The biggest fun was that I paid £7 to verify the photocopy of my passport to a well-know immigration firm in the City of London (which charges enormous sums for PR, etc.) Home Office rejected my SAR saying that the solicitor's confirmation was not provided in the correct way. (Which was probably an Oxbridge trained solicitor, but his words were not good enough for Home Office requirements!) I had to go back to the firm, asked them to correct the form, negotiate the waiver of another £7 fee (by the way, not sure why they only charged £7, good guys, others firms wanted £10 or more) and re-send my passport copy back to Home Office. With great delay, I finally received my SAR (see the details above). I will be going a bit further back and will ask what information they hold about me in respect of a (successful) application in 1975(!) to obtain Right of Abode. It was confirmed by a stamp in my then passport which is no longer in my possssion. I am a Dutchman who married my lovely wife in 1974 and have lived in the UK ever since then. It will be fun to see what reaction I get. Interestingly, I just downloaded the current SAR form and in respect of ID certification it also states that it can be done by " or a registered charity.". But I will follow your "path" first. :-)Anglodutchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12525729430903926974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092752484604128683.post-9054806085323075812017-03-02T17:36:02.339+00:002017-03-02T17:36:02.339+00:00Excellent!
